Hairy Stonecrop exhibits a spreading habit, forming dense mats of foliage. It produces thin stolons, each ending in a small, fleshy rosette covered with fine, soft hairs, giving the plant its characteristic "hairy" appearance. The stolons can extend up to 6 cm, while the rosettes reach approximately 4 cm in diameter .

Flowers

In early to mid-summer, Sedum hirsutum produces star-shaped flowers that rise above the foliage on slender, upright stems. These blossoms, typically white or pinkish, add a subtle yet charming touch to the plant and attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies 

Uses

  • Ground Cover: Ideal for rock gardens, dry slopes, and sunny, well-draining areas, Sedum hirsutum effectively covers bare ground while preventing soil erosion .
